Bespoke Tours- Throughout South Wales and the West of England

As part of range of services we are pleased to offer a range of Bespoke tours throughout South Wales and the South West to suit your requirements for you and or your guests.

We can arrange itineraries to suit you and your guests from sightseeing:- scenic, historical, industrial to special interest tours such Genealogy, Fact Finding or Shopping trips for a bit of Retail Therepy

Please find an example of  a tours we have put together for one of clients:-  Where we take a trip back in time of the Romans AD0075 and end up in the Victorian Era.

  

 

 

 

9:00  Leave Cardiff.

1. Travel to Caerleon the site of a Roman Fortress called “Isca Silurum” that housed the Second Augustan Legion, it was founded in AD 75 and guarded the region for over 200 years.  This was one of only 3 permanent fortresses in Roman Britain and the site has the only remaining Barracks in Europe and as a permanent residence also had extensive Baths and an Amphitheatre which the remains can still be seen today.  At the Site there is Roman Legionary Museum offering a wealth of information.

2. We then travel to the Caerphilly Castle with its leaning tower, built by the Norman Gilbert de Clare in 1270 after much uprising from the native welsh tribes

3. We travel up through the Rhymney Valley to the Bryn Meadows Country Hotel and Golf Club for lunch with it panoramic views over the valley

4. From here we are going to travel back in time to 17th Century the time of the English Civil War with Royalist and the Parliamentarians under Oliver Cromwell.  We will visit a fortified Manor House know as “Llancaiach Fawr” where you will be welcomed as a guest of the Master of the House by the servants and given a tour of the house in his Master absence in the language of our lord year 1645.

 
Suggested time of visit 11/2 - 2hrs   with afternoon tea. 

 Time and stamina permitting we travel back to Cardiff stopping at the picturesque Victorian Gothic extravaganza known as “Castle Coch” the Red Castle with it fairytale appearance on a wooded hillside with the aromatic aroma of wild garlic in the spring.  Built for the 3rd Lord of Bute reputedly the richest man in the world by William Burges.    

Return to Cardiff.
