One of our suggestion for a Day Tour would be starting in Caerleon or as it was known in Roman times Isca with its visitor Centre Housing the Roman Baths dating back to the 1st Century AD with artifacts and close by the remains of the Amphitheatre and Barracks to explore.
We then travel past the outskirt of the City of Newport were the Ryder cup is being held in 2010 through the picturesque Rhymney Valley to Caerphilly Castle built by Gibert de Clare with it leaning tower that out leans the tower in Pisa. The Castle is also reputed to be haunted by the Ghost of the "Green Lady"
We have the opportunity after visiting the Castle to spend some looking around the Town and its Visitor Centre opposite the Castle having a bite to eat or we would be happy to take to Hotel with fabulous views for Lunch.
Following this we travel to one of the "Best" visitor experiences in South Wales where you are transported back in time to year 1645 to Llanciach Fawr Manor House at the time of English Civil Wars. Where there was great unrest throughout the land with Oliver Cromwell Roundheads and the Royalists. You are welcomed by Colonel Prichard’s servants in typical dress and language of the period, who would be pleased to show all aspect of the running of House at this time. If time and stamina allows we can travel to the Victorian time to:-
Castle Coch (The Red Castle) which was renovated by the 3rd Marquees of Bute reputed to be one of the richest men in the World in the late 1800s who gave the illustrious Designer William Burges carte blanche to design the interior of this fantastic Victorian Folly just outside Cardiff.
